Windows 7 | Libraries
This new Windows 7 feature lets you group files into collections, no matter where they are or what they're called.
If you are a former windows users, you might not notice anything different about libraries. Click on Start and Documents and you’ll see what looks like the familiar lineup of personal folders—Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos.
Where's the beef? or the music? or my document?
At first, they look like plain old folders, however, libraries are far more powerful. Libraries don’t actually store files. Instead, libraries point to where files are stored on your PC.
As an example, you have various music files downloaded on your PC in different locations. QuickTime and iTunes sticks songs one place, Windows Media Player puts them in another. Maybe you've even ripped some CDs to an external USB stick.
In Windows 7, it's easy keep track of your music. Just tell your Music library where all these folders are, and the next time you open your library, your songs will all show up in the same Library: My Music.
Just right click on the Music Icon, click the Include Folder button, and add your music.
